Renshi Ray Wilkin – 7th Dan

Began training in 1972 with the Karate Union of Great Britain. He formed Blackpool Shotokan Karate after receiving his 2nd Dan with Sensei Sadashige Kato and became affiliated with SKKIF. From here, Renshi Wilkin would be awarded his 3rd, 4th 5th and 6th Dan by Soke Hirokazu Kanazawa.

His most recent acomplishment was in 2022 where he achieved his 7th Dan with Kancho Nobuaki Kanazawa. Renshi Wilkin’s attention to detail and commitment to the true teaching of Shotokan Karate is second to none. His favourte Kata is Sochin because of the strength and focus the Kata requires to perform it well.
